YAPLUKA is above all a family story.
A family of backpackers, nature and adventure enthusiasts who want you to travel and discover the world in a different way.

Jean-François,
What drives me is freedom, discovering countries, meeting people, their lives, their culture…
In my youth I went on a trip with my backpack, then on a motorbike with my little canvas tent, bivouac around a wood fire in the evening in the middle of nature.
My spirit of freedom led me to build my own boat, a 53-foot aluminum catamaran to go around the world. Unfortunately the family decided otherwise and I then decided to become a builder of travel catamarans.
For 10 years I worked to design and build boats from 47 to 95 feet for owners happy to be able to sail the world. This great adventure ended with the financial crisis of 2008/2009 which brought the shipyard to a halt.
Following this great adventure, I headed abroad to change my mind and turn the page on the boats… Here I am in Moldova, a wonderful country where there are a lot of good wines and warm people. There I meet Angela, a city adventurer who helped me rebuild myself…. A year spent traveling in this country, we decide to return to France to settle down and create a new business.
We put our suitcases in Amboise, a pretty town on the banks of the Loire where we became hotel and restaurant owners at the foot of the castle.
The trips we share with our customers but it is not enough. The passion for travel being stronger, we decided to launch a rental base for leisure vehicles: from the 100% electric mini van to the campervan, including the rooftop tent and the 4WD vehicle, so that everyone can find something for themselves. according to his wishes.
I look forward to sharing our travel experiences with you.

Anaïs,
Nature lover from a very young age, I dream of discovering the world and showing it to my children. We discovered rooftop tent travel with our son, who was only one year old, and we fell in love with this way of traveling.
This feeling of freedom to be able to stop without constraint of time or place, to improvise the itinerary of the next day or to follow the advice of the locals, to adapt our adventure according to the weather or our mood.
Waking up in the morning, in extraordinary places, lulled by the song of birds, the leaves swaying in the trees, opening your roof tent and letting the rays of the sun flood your bed.
I want to be able to take families on a trip and show that road trips with young children are possible!
The proof is, they are the first to claim “when do we sleep in the rooftop tent? “

In the YAPLUKA family,
I would like… the son
Arthur,
I spent all my youth in a house on the edge of a wood, where the birds could be heard more than the cars. During my studies, I had to live in big cities where the lack of greenery quickly became unbearable. I needed to come back to calm and nature.
I then settled in a small town on the banks of the Loire, where I was able to find some of what I was missing. But it was not enough, I needed change, to move, to live.
Thanks to rooftop tents, I finally have the freedom to go wherever I want, without constraints and without the need for major preparation. I really recommend this experience to anyone who wants to travel while keeping in touch with nature!
